Boosh party

This really should have been done sooner but I'm so lazy...

June 9th The Mighty Boosh forum won an Orange party competition out of loads of other entrants and the prize was a huge £50,000 worth party with a party planner and everything. It was on a boat in the Embankment in London.

Now, as it wasn't my birthday yet and you had to be 18 to come in unsupervised [without a parent or guardian], I was upset that I couldn't go as I was still 17 then [missing the line by 4 days...] and both parents would be away. So, I was stuck... Until, they came up with an idea.

One of my best mates on the forum was going to come as my guardian because he was 18 in January so I went with him on the night...and it worked! However, they didn't check the guardian bit and must have mis-read my passport date of birth because they gave me a silver wristband that said I was over 18! One of the best things about this was that with this wristband, you could not only drink but it was a free bar!

I also wanted to plead with them to let me stay as an 18 or over person because the under 18s had to leave at 11 but the others got to leave at 2am...and three hours is a lot of fun to miss in my eyes!!

So in the end I didn't have to do that because I had a silver wristband....I loved that wristband....until it was taken away from me.

What happened was I got a bit drunk and the bar staff were told to keep an eye on me or something because I didn't look over 18 so they found out and one of the worst bits was one of the staff coming into the loo and taking my wristband apart...barrasin'!

So I cried loads and me and my mate kept emphasising that I was only 18 in 4 days but they were having none of it so I had to leave at 11... I cried so hard...

But enough about the sadness, there were some good points!!

*Meeting people

Meeting more people from the forum I'd met and not met before. I also met a few people that weren't on the forum and one of them said they liked my story I did, I didn't even know who she was, it was genius!

* Just having fun

Spending time with James, my 'guardian' and lovely mate:

I also met someone off the forum called Hughsie who was dressed so similarly to Russell Brand that I just had to ask him to say 'citin'!' and be all Russelly, he was genius and went, 'byebyeloveyoubyebye!!' all Russell-like when I left after a hug! I did know him beforehand from the forum so it wasn't that weird!

And getting drunk was lovely too, makes it easier to miiiiingle!:

This was crazy, right, the first time I got excited was when I saw a small figure walk past me as I was on the way to the loo and it took a while for it to register as I was drunk by then but Mike Fielding is notorious for being tiny so I went to one of my mates after he'd gone by, "....Was that?!?!" and she went, "Yeah!" while ushering me into the loos before I screamed out something embarrassing in front of Mike.

The best thing was that we were told the Boosh WERE NOT going to be there so I didn't expect it at all!

So that was exciting but not just that, when I came back from the loos and saw James, he asked if I saw him and I said, "Yeah!!!!" all excited like then he said there's someone else and I nearly died, thinking who else could be with Mike...? Of course - Dave Brown, his familiar! I wanted to tell everyone but was told to keep it quiet until they were announced or something so I just told James over and over.

That wasn't even it, I said 'meeting' didn't I? That doesn't count as meeting, that's seeing them, so what happened next...?

It was 10.45pm and I was still crying outside on the deck with James to comfort me, I realised I only had 15 mins left so marched inside to have more fun, still very pissed off. Then I saw Mike and Dave and they were chatting with people and James pursuaded me to talk to them so I did and explained that I had to go really soon so would it be okay if I had a picture and they agreed! MJ [mate that took me to the loo] took it for me:

Then James ripped apart his ciggy packet and told me to get an autograph off of them but I was hesitant as I always thought of that as a bit fangirly if it wasn't specifically for a signing so I had to apologise before I asked either Mike or Dave... Dave signed the cigarette packet but then I realised Mike's autograph would be sweet too but I didn't have anything for him to sign so had to apologise again and he looked for something and didn't have anything for him to sign either.... BARRASSIN'!

So what happened was I told him to wait there and I'd get something but when I did, he was gone and my time was up. I went round in a blind panic asking where he was but no one knew...

Luckily he was in the VIP room and I asked one of my mates to go get him because she was a VIP so she did and I got my autograph! Turns out he remembers me telling him I'd go and get something to sign!

That wasn't even the end of the good night:

*Russell Brand's radio show

I was at the party when the radio show came on but was told as soon as I got in to listen to it on the 'listen again' option so I did and about 10 minutes in, my friend Freya did the most ultimate amazing thing! She emailed in and told Russell it was my birthday [I had NO idea about this at all] and to wish me a happy birthday and he did!! It isn't on the podcast archive but his exact words were this:

"'Now, onto what I was emailing you about' says Freya, 'I would really appreciate it if you'd say happy birthday to Sticks a.k.a. Shanade'...why'd you need so many names? Is Sticks a.k.a. Shanade some sort of criminal? 'Her birthday is on Wednesday and she's a massive fan of you and the show'. Oh well happy birthday Sticks a.k.a. Shanade."

So after coming home drunk and depressed, that shocked the hell out of me!! It was brilliant though and Freya is geeeenius!

So yes, I've met all of the main Boosh crew now, in order:

Rich
Julian
Dave
Mike

But where's Noel? He's next, it won't be long, I'm going to a gig on the 14th of July where he's likely to be there as his girlfriend and his 'band' will be there. I'm not getting too hopeful though because Noel is a bit unreliable but I'm not going for him and to be honest, wouldn't mind a whole lot if he didn't show up.
