Yesterday, I went to the Mighty Boosh series 3 DVD signing in Oxford Street, I planned to leave at 6am but ended up leaving by about 7.30...I suck at getting up/chatting to CERTAIN CANADIANS on MSN into the wee hours.

Anyhow, the time to get wristbands was 9am and cause it was peak hour I was running so late, I could have gotten to HMV at least 20 mins earlier but the tube and my train were packed, trains were delayed etc, bleh.

RIGHT so we got our wristbands [which were purple by the way <3] and hung out for a bit til the signing which was at 12.30.

The signing

We were in the 2nd mini queue in HMV cause there were 4 queues happening down the aisles where the CDs and that are [haha at people if they wanted to buy things from those sections] and they were a bit late but not terribly. So, they came out onto the little stage that the beautiful people at HMV had erected and people screamed, you know...like they do. A few fangirls but that's to be expected as OMG NOEL FIELDING!!!!111!! was in the building.

There was actually a little pack of people [very mainly girls] to the side of the stage behind the barrier that were there I think just to look at Noel. Noel milked it for a bit, obviously; leaning over the barrier and saying hi and posing for a few pics.

Sidenote: 5 songs of The Horrors' were played as they came out! [Death at the Chapel, Crawdaddy Shamone, Jack the Ripper, Sheena is a Parasite, and Excellent Choice....in vague order, I forget]. Most of these songs were different versions too, which I loved, especially Jack the Ripper. Then after them, others song came on that I didn't care as much about. Personally I think they should have played Cars by Gary Numan, that would have been ridiculously relevant and therefore...relevant?

So, we got closer to the front as the first queue went and our queue slowly started to go down, as I was at the front, Julian smiled at me, I smiled back and he raised his eyebrows. Nice! So I finally made it to the stage and saw/spoke to Noel first [they were in order of: Noel, Julian, Mike then Dave...Rich didn't make it]. The conversation went like so:

Noel: Hey, how are you?
Me: I'm fine thanks, how are you?
Noel: Yeah, I'm good, you going to see Robots tomorrow?
Me: Yeah! Are you?
Noel: Yeah.
Me: Uh...you remember me??
Noel: Course I do, we were talking in Barfly and it was loud in there so you wrote messages out on your phone and showed them to me, I thought that was really cool!
Me: Aw yeah! Yeah it was really loud and I had to keep shouting at you and I didn't wanna damage your fucking ears
*Noel leans over to tell Julian about the phone thing*
Noel: Yeah, so what's your name anyway?
Me: 'Shanade' but it's not the Irish way, it's S-H-A-N-A-D-E...see, I always have to tell people how to spell it or they get it wrong
Noel: Aw yeah, cool *he writes it down in his signing*
*someone tells Noel they have to hurry cause a car's coming to pick them up, Noel makes a face at me*
Noel: Apparently I'm not allowed to talk to you
Me: Haha oh okay
Noel: Aw I'm only joking
*I smile*
Noel: Yeah well I'll probably see you tomorrow, yeah?
Me: Yeah yeah, cool
*he stands up to kiss me on the cheek*
Me: Bye!

He remembered me from Barfly! and it was about 3 months ago!!

Mike remembered me too and said hi, it had been 5 months since I saw him! I also talked a little to Julian about whether all this signing was tedious or not and he said that he could be doing worse things. I said like 2 things to Dave, "Hi" and "Thanks"...

That was it. I am still chuffed that Noel remembered me and the most insignificant thing in my opinion, I didn't think he'd remember something like that!

Well, Robots gig later indeed, hope Noel is actually there, I know Mike's DJing! :D
