Such a sucky night.

by STiCKs13 @ 08 Jun. 2008 - 08:40:57

I saw Tim Minchin live again last night and I was really excited for it but things that happened before and after this pissed me right off and at one point I was on my own, cold and crying in east London at about 1am.

List from beginning to end of day of events:

1) [technically the day before] I find out I have to work on the day of the Minchin gig and finished an hour before doors opened. I live an hour away.
2) I work.
3) I find out the Victoria line is down. The gig is on this line.
4) I leave slightly earlier to get earlier train and manage to get it.
5) I just miss the tube when I get to London and have to wait for about 7 minutes.
6) It's already time for doors to open and I'm still on the tube.
7) I miss the bus stop for the gig because I was looking out for it but couldn't see it so stayed on the bus.
8) I end up in Kentish Town [bout 3 miles away from where I'm meant to be]
9) I get lost and confused for ages and eventually walk all the way to Archway [a mile] for a bus right to the gig.
10) The bus takes about 20 minutes to arrive, minimum.
11) I got to the gig 2 hours late but still managed to see Tim, which is why I went anyway.
12) He makes me laugh.
13) I pluck up the courage to say hi to a girl off the forum, she basically blanks me and seems uninterested as hell.
14) I meet Tim again and have a picture:

15) I get on the bus to King's Cross to get the tube and stay on longer than I'm meant to again.
16) I'm lost somewhere near Hackney [4 and a half miles from King's Cross] in east London for about 2 hours.
17) I suddenly need the toilet.
18) I seriously contemplate hitch-hiking.
19) I manage to make it to a bus-stop after searching for ages and get off to realise Paddington [where I need to go to get back home] is 49 mins away.
20) My last train leaves in about half an hour.
21) I sleep on the bus and get off at Paddington
22) I wait 4 hours for a train while listening to Russell Brand and various other songs.
23) I still need the loo.
24) My first train departs at 6.43am.
25) I'm home and my hay-fever decided to be extra bad today.
26) I have work in 4 and a half hours.

That sounds funny written down but at the time, I honestly felt so so bad, it really wasn't funny. In a movie, yes...in real life, no.

OH no that sounded awful.
I would have had a breakdown if I were you.
I hate being lost and being late
But at least you managed to catch Tim and get another photo with him so there was a really good highlight to the evening.

It was, he tried out a few new things and it was really funny. :) But to be honest, I would have rather missed the gig because seriously, I would not want to go through that again.

I was just hacked off that I forgot my tube map because I had noooo idea how far I was from things, I only knew I was in east London because of the postcode and cause apparently I was near Bethnal Green.

He was lovely, nyaww..

If you could have seen me, I looked so desperately upset that I got sympathetic looks from some people on a bus. ....That actually sounds a bit funny now BUT IT WASN'T!

Tim is the nicest famous person I have EVER met. I even reckon he's nicer than Noel when you get to meet him, he's got such a warm smile and he's all huggable with nice friendly eyes. :)

haha aww i can imagine you now!

i just think tim would be nice because he always seems a bit nervous, unlike a lot of famous people who are quite confident ect. Ive never met Noel, which is a bit stupid because Ive seen him so many times. He always seems to be busy and I would hate if people interupted me so i just leave it. Ive smiled at him a few times and got a smile back. That'll do me just fine :)

Tim exagerrates his nervousness onstage a lot but he's still pretty 'cute' and really softly spoken. ^_^ Noel seems way more confident like he knows just what to do when he says hi to people, with someone like Tim, it's more awkward silences if you aren't careful!! Not a lot though, just saying he can be that type of person without much effort. He's more 'normal' than most celebs.

i want tims hat!

yeah thats how id imagine noel to be, Id probably be more comfortable with noel as im confident aswell, but with tim, i hate awkwardness so d just end up talking for the sake of talking, usually about nothing and Id probably come off as weird if you get me :/

Yeah I gets it! XD

He isn't terribly so though, but it doesn't really help when I myself don't talk a ton, specially to people I really like.

There was like a 2 second period where we were just smiling at each other before the picture was taken and I didn't know what to say!

That's happened before with Noel though but I think it was worse with him... We were both talking then we stopped, didn't know what to say and he sort of bowed his head and laughed.

haha i hate situations like that so much i just sort of say the first thing that comes into my head :S
which people either find funny and think im alright, or they give me a funny look and go 'o....kay then'
its good i dont come into contact with a lot of famous people really :/

I'm guessing I'm said forum girl. I can only apologise if I came off as rude but to be honest, I'm shy as all hell when it comes to new people (the Internet is deceiving) and so I couldn't really think of anything to say. Like I said, I'm really sorry - I'm such a social retard at times.
