A little early cause I've not even started re-writing it yet but I'm really excited!!

[[Psst, to people that don't know of this story, it's a fanfic starring Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt from The Mighty Boosh that I started two years ago that lasted much longer than anticipated and that I got serious about, thanks.]]

I am editing the original story so I can be prepared as hell when I get round to re-writing it for publishing!

I'm editing the original story as I go along too cause I've already noticed like 2 or 3 typos [yes, ones I missed even after 2 years, EVEN though I've read though it a ton trying to get rid of them since then]. I'm also adding in things that make it read better and generally make me look more intelligent. =P

That is why I don't want to email it out until I'm done checking it over cause I want people to have it all improved and stuff. Some typos are just silly as fuck.

I've been adding lots of comments next to certain bits, either dialogue I need to add into the 'proper' story or comments about things I need to add in.

I'm making notes on character traits, chapter points, things I need to change and things that must be added in in a seperate document too.

Questions I've been asked/things I want to cover:

Are you changing their names?

I've been asked this a few times so just to clarify, YES they are getting full name changes, apart from Julian's first name and the characters I made up. The only character I made up that's getting a name change is Colette, she'll now be known as 'Raven'.

What are their names?

Noel is now called 'Lexi [Alexis]'
Mike is now called 'Elliot'.

Last names haven't been thought of yet.

Are the characters gonna be the same?

All the other characters will be the same i.e. Niles, Stuart, Brianna etc. I also wanna add new characters, but only like one or two, I can't deal with too many characters.

There's a new main character I know coming in for defs - Julian's going to have a little sister called Blakey! She's really important to a sub-plot I plan on working into the story but I won't be saying why she's important. She's about 8-9 years old, just a bit older than Elliot will be.

Becky will be totally cut out of the story cause it was unrealistic and a waste of time.

The characters will also become more three-dimensional and have more history that's explained as the story goes on.

Are 'Noel' and 'Julian' gonna act the same as they did?

The characters are kind of similar but they both look different and act differently too. However, Lexi is kind of feminine and wild like Noel and Julian's character is still sensible.

Will the title stay the same?

I may change the title and if I do, I might change Julian's first name too. I think I might want to make the Romeo and Juliet reference a bit less obvious.

Will the plot stay the same?

The main plot will be very similar but little sub-plots and things will make for a different story in a way.

The epilogue won't be in the final edit either.

When will it be ready for publishing?

In about a year if I'm being realistic. The original took me 3 months but I'm gonna work harder on the re-write and add a lot more words in. Remember, this is when it will be ready, not when it will be published.

Do you have a publisher in mind?

No, not yet.

Agent?

No, I'm gonna try and get it published myself first then get an agent.

How long will it be?

Aiming for 80,000 words, the orginal had about 20,000 less words than that. So about 200 pages on Word. If it ends up more than that then I'll be super pleased.

How will you make it more words?

I'm gonna add in a lot more history, sub-plots and descriptions.

Can I get a signed copy when you're done?

Yes, of course.

Can I see it when it's done?

Only if you buy it! I won't be emailing it out and will try not to get carried away and post little sections of story on here.

Can you dedicate it to me?

Not specifically... But it will be dedicated to homosexuals and anyone that ever loved the original and helped boost my confidence about it, so if that's you....it will be dedicated in part to you!

Are you seriously for serious gonna become an author?

Yes....no, this is just publicity stunt. =P

My mum got me these books on helping me to improve my writing and find out how to get published, which is pretty cool. One book has mini activities in and goes through how to make believable characters, plots, humour, irony etc.

I need to actually start writing this before I get too carried away cause things might change...I'll say if they do, anyway. So stay tuuuuned....

P.S. I finally told my mum [a christian] what the story was about and she actually didn't mind!! I also showed Noel Fielding and he did a sex wee.
